More than only horses

 

Feed and water me well.

Be kind to me.

Don´t pull on the reins.

Don´t hit me if i don´t deserv it.

Don´t ask me to carry to much.

Shoe me properly.

Protect me in the summer when it is hot.

Protect me in the winter against the biting cold,

and place a blanket on my back.

Caresse me sometimes.

I´ll carry you,

I´ll pull you,

I´ll live only for you.

You know that i can´t tell you what i need,

but God will reward you.

When my strength has gone,

take my life with as little pain as possible.

 

Don´t take me from my mother´s side

when i´m new born and still walking besides her.

Don´t ride me untill my third year.

At a gallop i will carry you on a sunshineride.

Back to the stable, friend, let me walk.

Give me fine food, grooming and water.

Have patience with me if i misbehave.

And on cold winternights place a blanket on my back.

Clean my saddle and bridle.

Don´t make a noise in my stable, it´s my home.

Close my door when the wind is cold.

I will live only for you, if you only understand my needs pray.

Then i will be your best friend for many years.

When i´m near death, take my life with a soft hand.

Go with me the last time, my dear, to the horses eternal green land.
